Today, Filip’s company is a prominent player in the European and Balkan tourism markets, attracting tourists from 25 different countries. His business is recognized for its exceptional MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) department that caters to some of the biggest institutions and companies worldwide, alongside a leisure department that is celebrated for its perfection.
Interviewer: Filip, congratulations on being named one of Forbes 40 under 40. Your journey is truly inspiring. Let’s start from the beginning. Can you tell us about your early days and how you began your entrepreneurial journey?
Filip: Thank you so much. My journey began from a challenging starting point. I didn’t just start from zero; I began from what felt like “minus.” Growing up as a single-parent child in a small country like Macedonia, I faced numerous obstacles. With no support, I relied on hard work, determination, and my unwavering faith in God. I had a vision to create something meaningful in the tourism industry, and I was willing to put in the effort to make that vision a reality.
Interviewer: Your success story is remarkable. What were some of the key milestones in your journey to building a successful tourism business in Europe and the Balkans?
Filip: One of the first significant milestones was establishing a strong network of partners and clients across 25 different markets. This required not only understanding the diverse needs of various tourists but also building trust and delivering exceptional service consistently. Recently, opening offices in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia marked another crucial step in our expansion. This month, we are finalizing our office in Ljubljana, Slovenia, further strengthening our presence in the region. Each market brought its own set of challenges and opportunities, and learning to navigate these was essential to our growth.
Interviewer: Your business has thrived, but you’ve also maintained a strong connection to your roots. Can you tell us about your love for your city, Ohrid, and Macedonia?
Filip: Ohrid and Macedonia hold a special place in my heart. Ohrid, with its stunning lake and rich history, is more than just my hometown; it’s a source of inspiration and pride. The beauty and cultural heritage of Macedonia have always been a driving force behind my work. I strive to showcase the best of our region to the world, highlighting its unique charm and the warmth of its people. My success is deeply intertwined with my love for Ohrid and Macedonia, and I am committed to giving back to the community that has given me so much.

Filip: The secret to my success is a combination of hard work, ethical business practices, and a healthy lifestyle. I’ve always believed in leading by example and maintaining integrity in all aspects of my business. My faith in God has been a crucial pillar, providing me with strength and guidance through every challenge. Additionally, my family and my dedicated team members have been instrumental in our success. Their support and belief in our mission have been invaluable.

Filip: My advice would be to stay persistent and resilient. Challenges are inevitable, but they are also opportunities for growth. Surround yourself with a strong support network, stay true to your values, and never stop learning. Embrace the journey, and remember that success is not just about reaching your goals but also about the impact you make along the way.

Filip: Looking ahead, I am excited about expanding our reach into new markets, including the USA, Scandinavia, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. We are constantly developing new products and exclusive programs to offer unique experiences to our clients. Our aim is to set new standards in the tourism industry by combining cultural richness with exceptional service. I also plan to continue promoting Macedonia and the Balkans as premier travel destinations, showcasing their unparalleled beauty and heritage to the world.
