DAY 1

Destination: Belgrade
Meal plan: Breakfast
Accommodation in Belgrade: 4* Hotel 

Arrival in Belgrade. Meet and greet the guide at the airport.

Upon arrival we start the tour with panoramic view of New Belgrade area – built after Second World War as a huge residential area which became fast growing business district in last two decades.

We will pass by Terazije square, National Parliament, Old Palace, New Palace, Kneza Milosa street - embassy district where you will also be able to see Nato bombing ruins, President Tito Mausoleum, St Sava Temple - the biggest Orthodox temple on Balkans, Slavija square, King Alexander boulevard. We will visit Kalemegdan fortress - the place where once was the city of Belgrade, now huge park with stunning views over confluence of Sava and Danube, as well as rich archaeological site with fascinating remains of Belgrade’s history. Free time. Accommodation and dinner at hotel.


DAY 2

Destination: Belgrade - Zemun tour - Belgrade

Breakfast in the hotelAfter breakfast we star our tour to Zemun suburb.

The formerly separate town of Zemun, which is today a municipality of the city of Belgrade, was settled in the 3rd century BC by a Celtic tribe known as the Scordisi who called it Taurunum. The highest point in Zemun is a hill known as Gardoš, from which a view extends over the whole of Zemun,the Danube and the centre of Belgrade. There is also the 36 m high Millennium Tower, otherwise known as the Tower of Sibinjanin Janko (Kula Sibinjanina Janka), built by the Hungarians in 1896. The area around Gardoš is distinctive, with its narrow cobbled streets and unusual architecture. At the foot of the hill, on the Zemun Quay, on the banks of the Danube, there are numerous restaurants offering live music, as well as cafés and clubs.

Back to Belgrade and free time in for individual activities, shooping, vsiting museum, galleries or simple walking. Dinner and overnight at Belgrade.


DAY 3

Destination: Belgrade - Novi Sad - Sremski Karlovci -Belgrade
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation in Belgrade: 4* Hotel 

Breakfast at the hotel. Then we proceed to Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci. 

Novi Sad -Once the border area during the great Austro-Ottoman war, the second-largest city in Serbia is now a cultural, economic, and trade center.

 Visit the Greek school and the Old Matica Srpska Library and Gallery, before viewing the intricate and iconic art inside the Orthodox Cathedral. City Hall, Liberty Square, pedestrian area of the town - Danube street, Zmaj Jovina street, "Banovina" - Monumental building of Executive council and Assembly of Vojvodina Province.

Drive to Petrovaradin Fortress, the best preserved fortification on the Danube River built during the reign of the Queen Mary Theresa. Continue on to Sremski Karlovci for historical and artistic sightseeing. Tour of the beautiful baroque center Patriarchal Residence, St. Nicolas Church, Gymnasium, The Fountain of Four Lions....Visit the Chapel of Peace where in the 1699 had been signed the peace treaty between the Christian Alliance ( Austria, Prussia, Venice) and Ottoman ( Turks ) and for the first time in world diplomacy ,a round table was used for negotiation.

Return back to Belgrade. Free evening. Dinner and overnight.


DAY 4

Destination: Belgrade - Topola & Oplenac Royal mausoleum -Belgrade
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation in Belgrade: 4* Hotel 

Breakfast at the hotel. Than we proceed to Topola and Oplenac hill. The town is known for wine production and was the center of many historical events during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.

The town was established by Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje, the leader of the Serbs during the First Uprising. There's a memorial complex here in his honor.

You'll see a monument of Karadjordje in the center of the plateau, surrounded by the remains of Karadjordje fortress with 3-story towers built in the years 1811-1813. There are also 2 former residences on the site, now museums, and the Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary. The Church is well known for the frescoes adorning its walls.

On the hill of Oplenac, above Topola, you'll visit a complex comprising of the Church of St. George, the Karadjordjevic Dynasty Mausoleum and a house built by the Royal Family Karadjordjevic. The interior of the Church is covered in mosaics, which required over 6 million pieces to complete! The crypt contains the relics of members of the Karadjordjevic dynasty. The Mausoleum, built by King Petar I, is covered with white marble from nearby Vencac Mountain and from Carrara in Italy.

Lunch in local restaurant. Free time for rest and relaxation. Transfer back to Belgrade. Dinner and overnight.


DAY 5

Destination: Belgrade - Viminacium - Kapetan Misin Breg - Kladovo
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation in Kladovo: 4* Hotel 

Breakfast at hotel. Drive towards East , first stop will be archaeological site from the Roman period- Viminacium. Viminacium - once an important Roman town from the 1st century BC, the capital of the province of Upper Moesia. Apart from the ruins and ancient tombs we will also see the skeletons of many mammoths found during the excavation. Lunch at Kapetan Misin breg where you will taste traditional food of Eastern Serbia. After lunch we’ll go to nearby town of Kladovo. Accommodation and dinner at hotel in Kladovo.


DAY 6

Destination: Kladovo - Zajecar - Felix Romuliana - Rajacke pimnice - Kladovo

Accommodation in Kladovo: 4* Hotel 

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to town of Zajecar , visit of the city musem and fascinating Roman archeaological site Felix Romuliana ( UNESCO world cultural heritage site) . 

Felix Romuliana was an imperial palace built on the orders of Galerius Maximianus on the spacious plateau of Gamzigrad, near the city of Zajecar. Galerius, who was born in this area, raised the palace in the 3rd and 4th centuries in honor of himself and his mother Romula, after whom he named it. It belongs to a special category of Roman court architecture associated only with the period of the Tetrarchy and is the best-preserved example of this style.

Next stop will be Rajacke pimnice  an unusual settlement of stone-built houses connected with the streets and squares, built in the 18th century only for his majesty WINE! Here we will have a wine tasting in one of the most famous wineries in this area and traditional lunch (optional).

Drive back to Kladovo. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


DAY 7

Destination: Kladovo - Lepenski vir - Smederevo fortress - Belgrade

Breakfast at hotel. Drive towards Belgrade . First stop will be Lepenski Vir- the prehistoric archaeological site.

Lepenski Vir is one of the largest and most significant prehistoric archaeological sites from the Stone Age. The culture of Lepenski Vir is around 8,5 millennia old and it is a cradle of archaeological discoveries that have changed our knowledge about the early Stone Age in Europe.It is located on the right bank of the Danube in the Djerdap gorgeRich cultural layer reveals the traces of highly developed culture that had complex social relations and as such was the first in Europe to organize its settlement according to a plan. Lunch break at Silver lake.

Next stop will be the town of Smederevo where we will visit the Fortress - The Smederevo fortress (15th century) was built in the form of irregular triangle and it is recognizable by 25 high towers. The fortress long stood strong before the conquerors. In 1459 it was finally conquered by Turks. It was the end of the Serbian medieval country. The Smederevo fortress was well preserved until the middle of the 20th century. During the World War II a massive explosion occurred damaging the fortress and the large part of the town of Smederevo.

Drive towards Belgrade. Check in the hotel. Free evening. Dinner and overnight .

Destination: Belgrade - Airport

After the breakfast check out from the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to home, bringing back wonderful memories from trip to Serbia.
