Free morning in Sibiu to discover, at your own pace, the rich heritage of a city considered to be one of the best preserved historical cities of Central Europe. Head to Brasov, a mountain resort spread around Mount Timpa. Surrounded by its fortifications, the medieval centre has been wonderfully preserved with the Black Church, a celebrated Gothic monument of Romania, and the 14th century St. Nicholas Church. In the vicinity of Sinaia, visit the elegant Peles Castle. A former royal village constructed in a German Neo-Renaissance style, it boasts one of the finest collections of artwork and armour in Central Europe. Continue on to Bran. Visit Bran Castle, which was part of an ensemble of defensive citadels in the Middle Ages and built on a steep rock in the romantic landscape. According to the legend, this was the residence of Vlad Tepes, a terrible prince, called “the Impaler“, who inspired the writer Bram Stoker to invent the character of Count Dracula. This myth gives a particular charm to your visit of this labyrinthine castle. Return to the hotel in the region of Brasov for dinner and accommodation.

Depart for Sighisoara, the ‘pearl’ of Transylvania which was founded by artisans and merchants, called the Saxons of Transylvania.
